We Made It! Webster Groves is officially an EPA Green Power Community!!!

You are invited to join in celebrating the accomplishment of Webster Groves becoming an official EPA Green Power Community.  The celebration will be held at the Hawken House at 1155 South Rock Hill Road in the Hearth Room on Wednesday, October 8th, 5:30-7 and will include snacks and an award presentation by the EPA. The Hawken House will be open for viewing and there will be a musical performance by the WGHS A Capella group. This is a family-friendly event and we encourage you to bring your friends and family to help us celebrate.

This accomplishment requires a community effort and Webster Groves has stepped up in a big way!

There are 455 homes purchasing renewable energy certificates through the Ameren Missouri Pure Power program and 21 homes have installed solar.

The following businesses/organizations are purchasing renewable energy certificates: Acme Constructors, Big Sky Café, Christ The King Covenant Church, 1st Congregational Church of Webster Groves, Freddie’s Market, Hub Bicycle Company, Naturally Pure Salon, Straub’s Market, The Healthy Planet, Verde Kids, Weber’s Front Row, and Webster Groves School District.

And the following businesses/organizations have installed solar: Llewellyn’s Pub, Ross & Baruzzini, Straub’s Market, The College School, Webster Gardens Lutheran Church, Webster Groves Service Center, Webster University.

Webster Groves is currently matching 3.37 percent of its energy with green power, which is equivalent to preventing almost 11,109,620 pounds of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere and is the same as taking 1,061 cars off the road for a year.  The Green power team, Ameren Missouri Pure Power and Microgrid Energy, congratulates Webster Groves on this exciting accomplishment!!
